Smokin Hot Smokey Summer Eyes

In this technique, we’re going to use slightly lighter shades than the traditional “smokey eye” (blacks and dark grays). This smokey eye technique will always stay the same no mater what colors you choose, so you can customize the drama for any season or event, and even use this technique for daytime eyes that pop! All you need are 3 complimentary Eye Candy Colors (or any b3 you’d like to see mixed together).

TOOLS NEEDED:

No matter what brand of makeup your using, the makeup tools and brushes you use to apply them with will dramatically affect the look- and the best finished looks always rely on the tools used with the application. This means toss those spongy applicators and invest in a few good shadow brushes. Our professional makeup brushes are custom made for Ferro Cosmetics, with soft luxurious bristles that hold the loose minerals in place until you apply them. Plus- they last for years and years!

-       Makeup Brushes- We’re going to use Large Oval Shadow brush, our Duo Smudge/Shadow Brush, Blending Brush, and Duo Brow/Liner Brush.

-       3 colors from lightest to darkest that can work together. One of the 3 shades must be pale, the “darkest” color is going to give the “smoked out” look, and the 3rd color will be for blending or highlighting.

We’re using our SULTRY COLLECTION (Sultry Smoke, Plum Crème, and Midnight).

  1. Apply Plum Crème (lightest shade) to the entire lid using the Large Oval Brush. The bristles of this brush are bound tight and cut specifically to lay mineral makeup onto eyes evenly and smoothly. Repeat on other eye. Lift brows keeping eyes open when applying to avoid “skipping” of the brush over the delicate skin on the lid.
  2. Now using the shadow side of the duo/smudge shadow brush, apply Sultry Smoke to the crease, beginning in the center and working your way out to edge of eyes. Use small downward strokes to deposit the rich color, keeping the richer pigments in the crease so that the color fades into the lash line. Make sure you can see the Plum Crème completely on the brow bone, and barely there at the lash line.
  3. Now, blending outward (from inner corner of eye to outer corner of the eye)  blend Sultry Smoke evenly and with as much intensity as you wish.
  4. Flip the brush and use the Smudge side of the brush, and apply Sultry Smoke to UNDER bottom lashes of eyes. Continue to connect the crease to the newly applied color under lashes to outside corner. Avoid the inner corner of the eye.
  5. For added drama: Using Midnight, apply just enough to add intensity and darkness if desired, starting in the middle of the crease and blending towards edge of the eye. Follow your application of Sultry Smoke with Midnight by applying it directly on Top of Sultry Smoke, allowing some of rich purple to show, and subtly blending the two shades. For adding even more drama, apply Midnight on the entire lid and crease for a very smokey dark look.

LINING (Use any darker shade anytime using this technique. For this lok we are using Midnight)

In your lid or a small dish, add a drop of water to Midnight and mix into a creamy paste (be sure it’s not too watery or it will get messy, so add more midnight to your mixture). We sugest using our BENT LINER BRUSH- the bend in the brush makes application easy for even the novice first timer! Hint: don’t clean the dish when done- you can reuse it again and again simply by adding more water, since our minerals won’t spoil.

You will be applying directly along the lashline. Beginning in the middle (directly above the pupil area), pull brush along the lashes and outward, extending just a tad past the lashes. Without adding more to your brush, now start from the inner corner of the eye, and finish by connecting it to your first line. Now that you have your base liner applied, now you can thicken the line by tracing over your initial application. The thickest line should be on the outer edge. Always keep the inner eye line thin.

DON’T FORGET THE BROWS BABY!

Our favorite shade for almost every woman…no matter how light or dark your brows are naturally- is TAUPE. It’s cool brown tone adds a polished look to your brows and covers any lighter shadow that may have landed there during application.

Using the Brow side of your duo brow/shadow brush, apply TAUPE 3-n-1 Eye Candy by filling in the beginning of your brow only. Finish by doing small light strokes on the top edge of brow, and extend your brows if needed (sometimes over-tweezing or simple genetics needs a little assistance).

Summer Eyes

With our over 45 shades of Eye Candy Mineral Eye Shadows, a simple finished eye can make you look instantly polished, instantly luminous, and instantly ready for a day at the beach or a hot summer night. Here are some quickie summer EYE makeup tips:

  • For a light and easy day look: Remove shine from lids, feature your lashes and instantly look polished in 30 seconds with a light application of Eye Candy pure mineral eye shadow.  Try Secret, Ivory Lace, or Champagne (warm/neutral tones) or Come Hither, Plum Crème, or Pink Ice (cool pale tones) starting from the lash line all the way up to the brow bone to brighten eyes without too much color.  Use with our Large Oval shadow brush and your eyes are done in just 30 seconds.
  • For an evening look that’s still light and airy, apply any of the above shades over the entire lid, then add depth by applying a slightly darker shade, ANY SHADE, in the crease of the eye using our super-easy SLOPE Brush. Awesome summer shades are Sage, February, Chameleon, or Golden Cinnamon.
  • Bronzed Goddess: Apply Vegas Coral or Vegas Tan dry for subtle summer shimmer, WET for all-out summer shimmering eyes. Then apply SKINNY DIP in the crease and inside corner of the eye for a subtle yet sexy bronzy look (these shades also make blue eyes stunningly bluer). SKINNY DIP also makes a fabulous face bronzer, lip color, and nail polish!
  • Multi-Faceted: Show them how many sides you have by adding our new favorite 3 color combo for summer eyes: Come Hither, Sage, and Dirt. (EARTHY COLLECTION)

1. Come Hither applied over the entre lid with the Oval Shadow Brush,

2. Sage gets applied using the Slope Brush on the inner eye crease and a light stroke under the lower lashes using the TIP of the slope brush works fabulous,

3. and finally Dirt applied at the edges of the crease. The subtle green flecks in DIRT matches the Sage tones, and when all 3 colors collide, your talkin FIREWORKS on those peepers that still look soft enough for daytime too.

SUMMER FOUNDATION PROBLEMS RESOLVED!

Why is Ferro Cosmetics Ultimate Foundation great for summer?

Ultimate FoundationMany women scramble during summer time when it comes to their foundation. Most don’t even wear foundation, because of how confusing it may be to find a new color that typically would be outside their normal color scheme. Bronzers can add or enhance a sun-kissed look, but wearing a bronzer over your entire face is pretty much a no no.

Can you look tan using a foundation?

Or maybe you have a brand new tan from your self tanner or spray tan session, and you’re scrambling for the perfect shade.

Soo…. How exactly does one choose a foundation for summer, and why is it important to still wear one?

Remember – the very first thing to consider when matching foundation for your current skin tone, is always look at your chest, and consider the color of your arms, not just your face, when choosing a foundation.  And don’t be afraid to go richer with your color!

Ferro’s mineral foundations are forgiving and bendable, so you don’t need THE “perfect” color to look like you already have it.  Our foundations are perfect for summer days because:

  • Covers imperfections- NOT your tan
  • Adds richer color to your face especially when your chest is much more tan.
  • Removes shine and oils, and resists humidity and moisture.
  • ONE richer foundation color can be the perfect shade for the multitude of shade changes your skin goes through when dealing with a fresh tan to faded tan, and all the shades in between.
  • Evens out skin tone on tan skin that may be blotchy or uneven
  • Blends in “farmers tan” from sunglasses or uneven sunscreen application
  • Enhances your tan naturally.
  • Tans add a great color boost to the face, but most times uneven, and even shiny. Using a darker foundation tone will blend your tan into an even, bronzed and healthy appearance.
  • It NATURALLY resists moisture, sweat, and stays put in the humidity. So GO SWIMMING, your makeup stays put, as long as you PAT dry (don’t wipe).
  • SUN PROTECTION-Ferro foundations contain Titanium Dioxide and Zinc which help protect skin from harmful rays, so using a darker shade can give the appearance of a richer, natural tan without the damage of a real one.
  • SHOW MORE SKIN-Ultimate Foundation can be used to cover veins on legs, blemishes on chest, and breakouts in the bikini area! It goes undetected and fully covers without running off or sweating off, even in the water.

WHICH FOUNDATION-ULTIMATE OR RADIANCE?

Ultimate offers full coverage and a soft matte finish. Contains Kaolin Clay which absorbs oils and moisture, without pulling moisture from the skin. Great for humid conditions.

Radiance offers a sheer buildable coverage, so if you have a rich tan or want your color to shine through, Radiance leaves your skin fresh, dewy and flawless.

Make any of our foundations a concealer by using our concealer brush on targeted areas, which deposits more product, but without oils.

OR, mix with your fav moisturizer for that “liquid” foundation look.

Summer Flawless Skin

Matte Veil HD Mineral Powder
An absolute, gotta-have-it, Summer MUST HAVE!

SUMMER FLAWLESS SKIN MATTE VEIL 15 Reasons

Why?

No matter what your skin type, Matte HD Mineral Powders refreshes your complexion (with or without makeup) any time, day or night, all day long, and whenever you need a fresh flawless finish!

What is it?
Available in Sheer, Nude, Rose, and Amber
Matte Veil HD Mineral Powders are completely weightless loose mineral powders that when applied to the skin will leave a flawless, HD, airbrushed looking finish. It can be used over applied full face makeup, in place of or instead of foundation, and NEVER looks or feels caked on no matter how many times you apply. It’s comprised of ONLY lightweight natural minerals and clays, so besides for removing shine, the clays actually absorb the shine so it’s actually GONE not just covered up.

When our clients try Matte Veil HD Mineral Powder, they toss their Compact as fast as you can say “buh-bye caked on chemicals”!

PS. on Compacts: If yours contains Talc- TOSS! Talc actually stretches pores, and has a long list of other negative effects on the skin and body.

What Makeup Brush should I use with Matte Veil?
Mostly a personal preference, ANY of our FACE Mineral Makeup Brushes can be used.
MAKEUP ARTIST TIP: Never use cross use your blush brush to apply Matte Veil- it will add whatever color/shimmer is already in the brush.

You can use your foundation brush as long as the Matte Veil shade is similar to your foundation shade.

Ferro Fabuki- great for applying Matte Veils to larger areas like full face or body applications.
Flawless Face Brush- best for targeted areas like T-Zone
Flat Top Brush- Best for oily skin as it applies a heavier application giving better oil and shine control.

Which shade should I get for my skin?
You really can’t make a mistake with Sheer, Nude, and Rose no matter what your skin tone is from the fairest to the darkest. Since they were created by makeup artist Krissy Ferro

SHEER Matte Veil – Light skin, but also works for all skin tones. It’s completely colorless, so although it’s a white mineral powder, it will not whiten skin.

NUDE Matte Veil – Light to Light Medium skin. Nude is a sheer beige/nude color, but since it has a neutral base, it works for all skin tones. Nude works especially great to soften rosie-pink undertones.

ROSE Matte Veil- Light Skin A sheer pink colored mineral powder. If you have rosie-pink undertones Rose will blend perfectly, OR if you have a bit of an ashy or dull complexion, Rose can subtly negate and liven duller skin tones. Rose works with all tones. If you favor pinks in blushes and lip colors, Rose is perfect.

AMBER Matte Veil – Dark Skin & Tanned Skin. Amber is the only shade that deposits some color to the skin. It’s a richer golden beige color and is usually best for Tan or Dark skin tones. Amber is popular in the summer because it can be used as a sheer foundation on tan/dark skin, and even as a bronzer for lighter skin.

Don’t Take a Chemical Bath

By Judi Kettler

With literally thousands of chemicals and fragrances added to everything from moisturizer to nail polish, how do you know if your beauty product is safe?

We live in a chemical-infused world. Although there are some benefits — clean drinking water, for example — when it comes to beauty products, chemicals are thought by many to cause adverse health effects. That’s because chemicals from beauty products don’t pass through your digestive system where they might be filtered; instead, they head right into your bloodstream.

It’s important for consumers to understand that the cosmetic industry is not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Companies are required to list all the ingredients in order of use, but they’re not required (by federal law) to test products for safety. The FDA can only act if they have strong scientific knowledge that a product is dangerous. That doesn’t mean that companies don’t have safety standards, but it does mean that claims like “natural,” “botanical” or “organic” are basically useless.

So where does this leave the consumer? The Environmental Working Group (EWG) — a non-profit, non-partisan organization working to educate consumers about chemicals in cosmetics — created Skin Deep a searchable database that analyzes about 25,000 beauty products and 10,000 different ingredients.

“It’s about trying to pick better products in the same category,” says Kristan Markey, a chemist and research analyst for EWG. For example, it’s not reasonable to stop using all soap, but you can choose milder soaps with fewer ingredients. “It’s a big challenge, but basically, it’s just a matter of slowly going through your bathroom cabinet,” Markey says. The best place to start is by looking at the ingredients. However, even that can feel like a Herculean task, given that most ingredients are multi-syllabic words you can’t even pronounce, let alone have any idea what they do.

Here are some tips to get started:

Minimize Fragrances

Beware of the word “fragrance.” You might think it’s something that simply smells pretty, but scents are chemicals. The truth is, it’s impossible to know exactly which chemicals are in a fragrance. There are more than 5,000 different fragrances used in cosmetics and skin care products, reports the American Academy of Dermatology. Plus, not all chemicals are listed on a label. To complicate matters, fragrance chemicals are a leading cause of allergic reactions to cosmetics. Choose “fragrance free” whenever possible. Or, if the bouquet of lavender fields is crucial for your morning shower, look for products with no chemical preservatives.”

Scrutinize Nail Polish

Phthalates — used widely in nail polish — are a big topic of controversy and research. Scientists have been studying this group of chemicals for at least 20 years and have found that they may be linked to birth defects in humans (they’re definitely toxic to animals). Unfortunately, phthalates often get hidden under “fragrance,” so it’s hard for the consumer to know if the nail polish contains it or not. The best tactic: Use less nail polish — perhaps just paint your toes and skip the nails.

Use Hair Dyes Less Often

Salons are not required to list the ingredients in their hair dye, Markey says, but we know that many contain coal tar ingredients — chemicals that have been linked to cancer. Black hair dyes for men have also been found to contain lead (called lead acetate), which has been restricted in both Canada and the European Union. Avoiding hair dye altogether is a tough pill to swallow — but try to go as long as possible between uses.

Avoid Skin Lighteners

“You want to avoid anything that changes your skin composition,” Markey says. Watch out for products that have hydroquinone — a chemical that bleaches the skin and can cause lesions. The FDA has issued warnings about it and recommended that it no longer be generally recognized as safe and effective.

Choose Shampoo Carefully

Be especially wary of dandruff shampoos, because they often contain selenium sulfide — a neurotoxin and possible carcinogen. If you can, avoid shampoos that list ethanolamine or diethanolamine — called TEA or DEA on the label. These are nitrosamines, says Markey, which are thought to be carcinogenic (though it’s not clear in what amounts). The FDA has also been monitoring the contaminant 1,4-dioxane, which on a label could be called “PEG,” “Polyethylene,” “Polyethylene glycol,” “Polyoxyethylene,” “-eth-,” or “-oxynol-.”

Simplify, Simplify, Simplify

Once you start digging into the ingredients of many of your favorite beauty products, it’s easy to become disheartened. After all, who doesn’t like to look nice, smell nice and have smooth skin and pretty nails? But try to look for ways to cut down the amount of products you’re using: Drop a step from your skincare routine, give your hair days off from washing, use fragrance free whenever possible and always look for products with less ingredients.

Face Color Tips

FACE COLOR TIPS

Are you thinking that Blush is one of those “kinda doesn’t matter” products? Well, think again!

Choosing the right cheek color, AND the way it’s applied, is a huge game changer in your signature makeup look. And we all know that goal is to look like we’re not even wearing makeup!

The right blush can make you look 10 YEARS YOUNGER, give you the “glow from within”, and even minimize sagging of eyes and cheeks.

The WRONG blush can make you look older, washed out, ruddy, ashy, and can make your beautiful makeup look heavy and discolored.

Here are some Beauty Nuggets about Cheek Color

FOR THE MOST NATURAL COMPLEXION

The goal is to give your skin natural looking color without actually “seeing” WHAT you are wearing; Translation: How to apply blush without looking like you are wearing it.

Makeup Artist Krissy Ferro suggests using TWO COLORS: one bronzy shade and one with a dash of color (brighter pink, plum, or coral/peachy tones).

FERRO COSMETICS SUGGESTED SHADES:

Pinky Swear, Merlot, Terra Cotta or Peachy Keen

First apply the brighter Blush x3 in the apples of your cheeks.

Then sweep on Glow Mineral Bronzer, beginning under cheek bone and sweeping out and upward. Finish with a swoosh over brow bone down to temple and ending at outter edge of cheek (moving as if drawing the letter “C” with your brush, Ferro’s “C-Glow Technique”)

FERRO COSMETICS SUGGESTED SHADES

Glow Baby and Winter Kiss for lighter skin tones, Autumn Kiss for light medium to tan skin tones, Summer Kiss for dark skin tones.

BARELY THERE  PEEK-A-BOO CHEEK COLOR

We have TWO easy techniques to offer you for a barely there look, and both will require a brighter Blush; either a pink (Pinky Swear) or a Peach (Peachy Keen.

But don’t worry if bright is not your thing, we’re not keeping it that way.

NUGGET 1

BEFORE applying anything (yes before foundation), swish Blush X3 shade onto the apples of your cheeks in circular motions. Don’t apply to entire cheek- just the apples.

THEN…begin your foundation application by applying first to outer face, working into forehead, nose, and then finally applying LIGHTLY over cheeks. When applying over cheeks, use small light buffing circular motions to blend, and keep just enough Blush X3 peeking through. Ultimate OR Radiance Mineral Foundation both work fabulous with this technique.

NUGGET 2

After your Ferro Cosmetics mineral foundation is applied over entire face, apply a brighter Blush X3 shade (Pinky Swear or Peachy Keen) in the apples of your cheeks only.

Mute it by applying ROSE or NUDE MATTE VEIL directly over Blush application.

Let the mineral pigments set for a few minutes (the heat of your skin can intensify the natural pigments) and then apply more Matte Veil if Blush X3 is still brighter than desired, or, without adding more Blush X3 to your Flawless Face or Duet Bronzer brush and using the minerals still inside the brush, lightly swish brush onto cheeks until desired colour is achieved.

BRIGHT PINK BLUSH CAN DETER SAGGING CHEEKS

As we age, our skin looses firmness, which causes fat pads in our cheeks to drop.

Applying a bright pink like Ferro’s PINKY SWEAR actually illuminates the cheekbones and draws the eye upward.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT CHEEK COLOR FOR MY SKIN?

Have you ever wanted to change your makeup look WITHOUT actually changing it?

Changing or using the right CHEEK COLOR can give you an instant change while keeping your signature look intact, OR, make your signature makeup look finally look GREAT!

Here’s a little guide on choosing the right Blush X3 cheek colour for your unique skin tone:

- WARM COMPLEXIONS look best in yellow based shades like Peachy Keen and Terra Cotta

- COOL UNDERTONES are flattered by blue-ish based berry and pink tones like Pinky Swear, Bashful, and Merlot.

- NOT SURE? Grab some paint swatches at Home Depot or Lowe’s (or any hardware store with paint chips) of varying tones that could work as a colour for cheeks. Bring them home and hold them to your face wearing a colour you commonly wear (preferably in natural light). You’ll instantly see what brightens your complexion and what makes you look washed out or sallow.

NEUTRAL UNDERTONE COLORS FOR EVERY SKIN TONE:

Suzie’s Glow, Naivete, Burnt Raisin

POWDER DEMYSTIFIED!!!
IT’S A POWDER – I HATE POWDER!
POWDER SETTLES IN MY LINES!
POWDER MAKES MY SKIN LOOK OLD
POWDER DOESN’T GIVE ME COVERAGE
POWDER MAKES MY SKIN DRY AND LOOK DRY
POWDER MAKES MY MAKEUP LOOK CAKEY
The list goes On and on and blah blah blah……

So let’s set the record straight!

(and we’re speaking about Ferro Cosmetics products here)

Powder is talc, mixed in with other powder ingredients and pigments. It DOES dry skin, settle in lines, and generally make your skin look pretty awful. It’s technology our grandmothers used (and some that still do which is probably the best living reminders of why we are deathly afraid of it).

Ferro Cosmetics products are CRUSHED ROCKS, pulverized minerals and clays that occur from the earth naturally, then ground into a CONSISTENCY of powder, but contains ZERO POWDER.

The ingredients in our products are pure and naturally derived, good for your skin, and with a long list of benefits to your skin AND the way our mineral makeup performs.

So before we list the benefits of our natural ingredients and what they DO for your skin and your look, let’s get this simple fact out of the way:

OUR PRODUCTS ARE NOT POWDER, THEREFORE THEY DO NOT BEHAVE LIKE POWDER.

You will NOT experience a single negative side effect of what traditional powders do.

So say buh-bye to POWDERPHOBIA ladies, and HELLO to high performance makeup that is natural AND good for your skin!

Color Blocking!

The Color Blocking Trend

Start by using Ferro’s Nude or Champagne as a base across the entire lid and into the brow bone.

Apply February Eye Candy Shadow across the entire lower lid and along the crease, blending along the outer corner staying under the brow bone and down into the nose.

Start from the lash line and add color upward.

Add a touch of water to intensify the color.

Next, take the Pumpkin Eye Candy and spill some into the cap.

Wet a liner brush with water, dip into a small amount of Pumpkin EyeCandy, tap of the excess.

We recommend you do a test line on your hand.

When you get a good consistency, apply to the lower lash line through to the end of the eye.

For extra drama, continue the line upwards to the lid crease.

Use the end of your eye brow line as a guide.

Please send us questions or comments! We’d love to hear form you.

Runway Ready!

We cannot deny the sexy look of the cat-eye! When you want to add some intrigue to your face, try creating the cat-eye for an exotic and sexy look that can be worn all day long!

Since the cat eye requires a steady hand and some practice, we recommend you practice a handful of times before stepping out with your cat-eyes.

Step-by-Step Application:

1.) First, make sure you put on all your other eye makeup such as your Ferro eyeshadow, brow filler, etc.

2.) Use an eyeliner brush that is tapered to a point for a more subtle effect, while liquid eyeliner is for more drama.

3.) Dip your damp brush into the powder eyeliner by laying the brush on its side and twirling it in the container of the liner.
-If using liquid eyeliner, remove any excess liquid by blotting the brush with a tissue.

4.) Apply the liner on the top of the lid, moving from the inside of your eye toward the outside. Add depth to the outside of the line for a more intense cat-eye look.

5.) Add a wing to the lower or upper lash line – your preference. Make a small wing for a sleek cat-eye and increase the wing to create a more glam look.

6.) Draw an even line along the bottom of the eye, always building up slowly, to add more to what you have which is a lot easier than editing what you’ve already drawn.

7.) Connect the upper and lower lash lines.

8.) Remove any excess with a cotton swab dipped in makeup remover.

Voila!
Now you’re ready to hit the town in cat-eyes that are runway approved!

Xoxo,

Under Eye Concealing – Why Ultimate Foundation WINS Over Cream and Stick Concealers

CONCEALING UNDER THE EYES WITH FERRO COSMETICS MINERAL FOUNDATION

Krissy Ferro

Concealing the under eye area is a great way to brighten the eyes and freshen your look. Even if you’re one of the lucky ones in which dark circles don’t exist, still, using an under eye concealer gives you that professional look everyone loves.

So how does one conceal using mineral makeup?

Ferro Cosmetic’s Ultimate Mineral Foundation is like 3 products in one: Foundation, Setting Powder, and CONCEALER in one product. But since under the eyes makes many women nervous for fear of accentuating lines and wrinkles with traditional type concealers, mineral powders typically makes women even more nervous.

TRUE, REAL Mineral Makeup like Ferro Cosmetics is made from rocks and minerals in a POWDER FORM, but WITHOUT the powder, or talc as it’s known in cosmetic use. Minerals bounce and reflect light away from lines and wrinkles without the glittery shimmery effect, minimizing the appearance of all those things we want to hide. What’s funny is that many of the products we think will conceal and cover- actually makes them worse!

Traditional Concealers typically are always heavier, containing heavier waxes, petroleum byproducts, and hazardous chemicals in creams and sticks. Pressed compacts and pressed powder concealers contain binders and waxes to bind the product and keep it in its compact, but the waxes make the area unusually shiny, and after 2 hours you can see even more lines, sometimes lines you never knew you had! The moist consistency THEN usually requires a powder application OVER the concealer so it doesn’t grab mascara or eye liner, making it look even heavier. Powder contains talc, and talc stretches pores and is linked to cancer according to the Skin Deep Data Base.

So what’s a girl to do when she wants to conceal under the eyes?

Ferro Cosmetics Ultimate mineral foundation 2-3 shades lighter than your foundation shade!

One product- no shine- no chemicals. Lightweight and never heavy, simply going up just a few shades will keep your skin’s finish consistent, and when you’re wearing Ferro Cosmetics mineral makeup- looks like you’re wearing nothing at all! No need to set it after applying because it’s set on its own. No oils to grab eye makeup, repels mascara “raccoon eyes”, and even though it’s in powder form, Ultimate Foundation will not settle into or exaggerate wrinkles or fine lines.

EYES FACE SYNTHO CONCEALER BRUSH #256

Small Side- perfect for under eyes

Large Side- perfect for concealing blemishes, breakouts, and maximum foundation coverage for the face.

APPLICATION

What the PROS use- Concealer Brush, Foundation Sponge/Wedge.

The right tools are essential to applying powdered mineral foundation as a concealer for under eyes because it will get mineral makeup right up to the lash line, which are the most common places women OVERLOOK when applying makeup. But make no mistake about it- you will notice a HUGE difference once you apply mineral makeup there, even if it’s the same shade. Standard mineral makeup brushes like Kabuki brushes or Ferro’s Fabuki and Flat Top mineral foundation brushes apply an even coat on a larger surface area such as your face. Concealing requires a more concentrated deposit of product in your application, onto a smaller area, as well as blending properly (meaning not blending it completely off the area, or flooding the delicate small eye area with too much product).

CHOOSE YOUR DESIRED COVERAGE AND FINISH

First choose your foundation type. Ultimate Foundation gives fuller coverage and leaves a matte finish. Radiance Foundation gives light to medium coverage and leaves a sheer radiant finish.

I always keep both Ultimate and Radiance Mineral Foundations in my personal bag because sometimes I got very little sleep (or too much wine the night before) and need more coverage for dark circles- hence Ultimate Foundation. If I only wish to illuminate the area and I don’t have dark circles I use Radiance. Ultimate Foundation gives fuller coverage and leaves a matte finish. Radiance Foundation gives light to medium coverage and leaves a sheer radiant finish).

MAXIMUM COVERAGE FOR EXTREME DARK CIRCLES- MIX INTO YOUR LOTION EYE CREAM

Mix your concealing shade of Ultimate or Mineral Foundation into your moisturizer or under eye cream. It works fabulously And is a perfect camouflage concealer. Mixing with moisturizer will also work making your powdered mineral foundation into a healthy liquid foundation! Blending is key so make sure you have a concealer brush and/or sponge on hand.

Moisturize Moisturize Moisturize!!

Before you sweep, swirl, swish, or stroke anything on that gorgeous face of yours, be sure to cleanse and moisturize with the proper (and chemical free) products geared for your skin type, and exfoliate twice weekly with a gentle exfoliating scrub. Eau Natural (Chill Out Day)

Ok, so no one needs to know you didn’t roll out of bed THAT gorgeous.

But to achieve the most natural effect, less is more, and will work great.

FOUNDATION Matte Finish(Ultimate Mineral Foundation) or Radiant  Finish(Radiance Mineral Foundation)

The Brush: Flawless Face Brush, Pink or Black Fabuki

The Reason: Minimal product is applied to the face due to the loose, soft bristles of the brushes, holding less product. Or for a tad more Buildable coverage, use our Fabuki brush. Lightly sweep over T-zone and blend outward, applies BOTH Radiance and Ultimate Foundations easily

The Result: A light application of our minerals leaves a shine-free, fresh looking face with an even complexion.

The Dreaded Monthly Visitor

You know, THAT time of month, or a stressful week yielding the worst breakout ever. Whatever the case, we’ve got you covered!

CONCEAL IT!

The Product: Ultimate Foundation Full Coverage Mineral Foundation

The Result: Evenly concealed and fully covered blemishes and dark circles without the shine and “wipe off” effect of stick or ream concealers.  Added Bonus is the titanium Dioxide and zinc oxide helps reduce swelling and inflammation of redness and breakouts, so they can heal even faster!

Maximum Coverage

Weather you need full coverage, or you just like to have an even tone to begin your makeup application, full coverage CAN be achieved with Ferro’s Ultimate Mineral Foundation and the right brush!

The Product: Ultimate Foundation Full Coverage Mineral Foundation

The Result: A full-out, fully covered face that still looks natural, yet with the coverage you desire.

Glowing & Radiant

Fresh, dewy, youthful skin is something we all crave. Achieve it easily and quickly with Radiance Foundation and the right brush!

The Product: Radiance Foundation
